BE@T - Bioeconomy in Textiles
BE@T aims to develop and implement innovative territorial solutions for the clothing and fashion industry. It focuses on circularity, efficient use of renewable resources and local agro-industrial and forestry waste, local production and distribution, textile use and reuse, collection and recycling, business models, strategic partnerships, and effective regional policies. These measures support circular and sustainable textile value chains. Within the project, we model platform and business processes and develop an intelligent industrial symbiosis platform with matching algorithms that prioritize sustainability. The platform includes catalogs of products, byproducts and waste, and facilitates byproduct creation and access to waste.

This project shows how generative AI can support administrative processes in organizations. Using low-code technologies (Node-RED), an intelligent algorithm analyses incoming emails and interprets their content against a list of products and prices. The workflow then prepares a quote and sends it for approval.

This project focuses on the circular economy and the repair of luxury goods. A web and mobile solution was developed to buy, sell, repair and donate luxury products. Based on product images, a GenAI algorithm identifies the main issues and scores the item's condition, while a gamification model encourages participation and task completion.

Food retail has changed substantially in recent decades, particularly since Portugal joined the then European Community and major distribution companies entered the market, to the detriment of small producers. Smart LCA
The main goal of the project is to valorise digital resources and the corresponding development of software to monitor and collect data for calculating the Life Cycle Assessment(LCA) of textile yarns to reinvent new production routes and, consequently, greener and more traceable products, contributing to the digital passport for textile products, according to European Green Deal. Starting real-time energy consumption monitoring throughout the production lifecycle and crossing it with the bill of materials (BOM) is our leading issue - we are not currently monitoring consumptions, and the BOM is not used yet.
